Looking at these photographs
they remind me of where I've been
warm sunlight on our backs
and the basements that we slept in
When the leaves began to fall
yeah we fell just the same
growing up was never our call
oh but life was always our game
'Cause time's been chasing us
away from days where we
would stay outside, until the sky turned gray
Friday afternoons
and broken bottles
we were reckless youth, and those were our days
just too young to worry
and too old to care
With old bikes and rolling wheels
we'd navigate these streets
in pursuit of something real
in the muggy springtime heat
we'd talk of girls we knew
and of ones we'd like to know
of the chances that all flew
out the window long ago
'Cause growing up was hard enough
and looking back is always tough
even though we all packed up and went our separate ways
life still moves along and that's okay
life still moves along and we're okay
'Cause time tried chasing us
away from days where we
would stay outside, until the sky turned gray
plastic solo cups
and late night laughter
we're still reckless youth, and today's our day
still too young to worry
and too old to care
we're just too young to worry
and too old care
