Smoke Signals
02:28
|
|||
Mindlessly numb to the wind in my hair
doing fifty in a twenty five, wouldn't I dare
Upstate nights cured by the smoke in the air
and that's enough for me.
Late nights turn to lazy mornings, I do what I can
Empty cans and second thoughts, well who gives a damn
Running around to catch a breath of the night
and oh it felt so right
Smoke signals make me feel alright
now I'm paying the price for those things last night
Yeah, smoke signals make me feel alright
now I'm paying the price for those things last night
Looking over my shoulder to see if anyone has noticed
state of mind, a different place, far away from here
wondering now when the time will be real
and it never seems to pass
Smoke signals make me feel alright
now I'm paying the price for those things last night
Yeah, smoke signals make me feel alright
now I'm paying the price for those things last night
That's enough for me
that's enough for me
that's enough for me
time to breathe
(woo)
Smoke signals make me feel alright
now I'm paying the price for those things last night
Yeah, smoke signals make me feel alright
now I'm paying the price for those things last night

Too Young to Worry
04:19
|
|||
Looking at these photographs
they remind me of where I've been
warm sunlight on our backs
and the basements that we slept in
When the leaves began to fall
yeah we fell just the same
growing up was never our call
oh but life was always our game
'Cause time's been chasing us
away from days where we
would stay outside, until the sky turned gray
Friday afternoons
and broken bottles
we were reckless youth, and those were our days
just too young to worry
and too old to care
With old bikes and rolling wheels
we'd navigate these streets
in pursuit of something real
in the muggy springtime heat
we'd talk of girls we knew
and of ones we'd like to know
of the chances that all flew
out the window long ago
'Cause growing up was hard enough
and looking back is always tough
even though we all packed up and went our separate ways
life still moves along and that's okay
life still moves along and we're okay
'Cause time tried chasing us
away from days where we
would stay outside, until the sky turned gray
plastic solo cups
and late night laughter
we're still reckless youth, and today's our day
still too young to worry
and too old to care
we're just too young to worry
and too old care

Where Did You Go
03:31
|
|||
I remember times when we were young
on our old stomping ground
you haven't been around in oh so long
you never tried or came around
Gang's still going strong
reckless into the night
and I'm sipping on my whiskey sour
we'll end the night singing the same songs
around the fire till the final hour
Where did you go my friend
and what are you up to now
It's been so long and I'm dying
just to see your face
Where did you go my friend
and what are you up to now
It's been so long and I'm dying
just to see your face
Pictures from last night
shed some light on it all
Familiar faces fill the lens again
But someone's still missing during the role call
Someone we still want to call our friend
Where did you go my friend
and what are you up to now
It's been so long and I'm dying
just to see your face
Where did you go my friend
and what are you up to now
It's been so long and I'm dying
just to see your face
We're missing one, we're down a man tonight
Answer the call, I know you're there all right
Memories from childhood were great
There's chapters left to write
Why can't you see the light
Where did you go my friend
and what are you up to now
It's been so long and I'm dying
just to see your face
Where did you go my friend
and what are you up to now
It's been so long and I'm dying
just to see your face

Playground
03:08
|
|||
Please, don't let me fall
the trees I used to jump from were never this tall
And who knows, what the future holds
but if we live like we're young then we might not ever get old
And these days we're tired of always doing what we're told
It's time to hit the road
And lately, I've been losing sleep
always looking for answers to questions I don't want to hear
It ain't easy, no it won't ever be
But what the hell is life without a little uncertainty
Oh I'm trying, yeah I'm trying, to stay up on my feet
But this world keep moving,
and the years at the playground, are far behind me
Oh I'm trying, yeah I'm trying to stay up on my feet
But this world keep moving,
and the years at the playground, are far behind me
Oh I'm trying, yeah I'm trying, to find a little peace
but these days keep moving
and the years at the playground, are far behind me.
